This is the first time in my life I’ve ever wanted to jump behind the wheel of a Bentley. It’s another one of Luc Donckerwolke’s masterstrokes: after having resuscitated Lamborghini, he has now applied some serious spit and polish to the English car maker. With its code name à la James Bond, the concept car EXP 10 Speed 6 has unanimously been recognised as the loveliest of surprises at the Geneva International Motor Show. You have to see this little racing green coupé up close to understand the Belgian designer’s audacity; all of a sudden the unwieldy English brand has roused itself, opening up to a sleek, sexier future. With its brash mien eagerly craving to be on the starting grid of Le Mans, the EXP 10 Speed 6 is a reminder that Bentley’s DNA is indeed motorsports.
C’est la première fois de ma vie que j’ai envie de sauter au volant d’une Bentley. Encore un coup de Luc Donckerwolke qui, après avoir ressuscité Lamborghini, dépoussière l’argenterie du constructeur anglais. Sous un nom de code à la James Bond, le concept car “EXP 10 Speed 6” est reconnu à l’unanimité comme la plus belle surprise du Salon de Genève. Il faut voir de près ce petit coupé vert racing pour comprendre l’audace du designer belge ; d’un coup, la pesante marque anglaise se tonifie et ouvre la voie à un futur excitant et racé. Avec sa gueule à vouloir prendre le départ du Mans, l’EXP 10 Speed 6 rappelle que l’ADN de Bentley, c’est bien le sport automobile.
